For those who grew up watching Vathiar’s films, Aariyathil Oruvan was sheer nostalgia. For the younger generation who have not seen his films in theatres it is a one of its kind experience. It beats all the masala films of today hollow ! It is a perfect example of how a screenplay is written and how the personality of the Hero is slowly injected and this is done with great expertise. The songs are all runaway hits. The costumes match the background and the stunts are simply awesome ! MGR mesmerises audiences with his usual charm and agilty and fast movements duirng all fight and song sequences. His philosophy of life is shown in all his films and this film is no exception. The princess charming, Jayalalitha is fresh like a flower . The pair have great on screen chemistry and this is transformed right through the film. Dialogues by R.K Shanmugam have appropriate punches and one feels like hooting and clapping every 5 minutes. B.R. Panthulu’s direction is remarkable and production values are superb. The film travels along the beaches and the sea around goa and takes you to a different era altogether. It takes you through Neidhal nadu, kanni thevu the pirates Island smoothly and the story travels in three parts .
‘Aayirathil Oruvan’, true to its name is a wholesome entertainer and a must watch as it is a film to be watched on the big screen.
Only then justice can be done to the granduer, the locales, the songs and the cast.
