The Arcot Talkies & MGR Peran Production is producing a life history documentary film on Makkal Thilagam, Puratchi Nadigar,Ponnmanachemmal, Puratchi Thalaiver M.G.R.

It will be released in DVD format in beginning of  2013.It will cover the entire life of Thiru M.G.R with many unique and rare interviews from stalwarts in the industry and contemporaries of the legend. It will be the first of its kind as it has been extensively researched and being produced by his own grand nephew.

Veteran Director A.Jaganathan Passes Away

Veteran director A Jagannathan passed away yesterday after suffering from breathing problems. He was 77 and was survived by wife, 2 daughters and a son. The director entered the film industry with the MGR starrer Idaya Kani and went on to direct several films which were blockbusters.

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha in her condolence message recalled the days she was associated with the director.

Several celebrities and politicians paid their last respects to the departed soul and his body was cremated at a crematorium in Tiruppur his hometown.

Today is the 26th death Anniversary of thiru M.G.Chakrapani elder brother of Makkal Thilagam M.G.R. M.G.C and Periyavar as he was fondly called by close associates was a great character actor,producer,and director.His role in Malaikkallan, Ali baba ,Mahamaya were unforgettable .Today we pay homage to him and remember his exemplary service to the film industry.Let us salute this great human being who was a simple man with humility and who was respected as Periyavar by the entire film fraternity.

MGR-95 ,MGR-77 Part -1

 

 

 

 

 

 

MGR –95 and MGR 77 was celebrated at Raja Annamalai Mandram on 5th August 2012 in Chennai with great enthusiasm and grand participation by fans.  The function started in the morning at 10.30 with a gathering of all MGR Rasigar  Mandrams.  The Fan Organisations came from all over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Karnataka, Kerala, Sri Lanka, France, Canada and Singapore.    The Agenda of the meeting was to bring all fans under one roof and spread awareness about the Urimai Kural Magazine which has been doing commendable work in reviving the memories of  Puratchi Nadigar MGR.  Mr. K.P Ramakrishnan who was the stunt master and body guard of MGR spoke about his association with the Late Chief Minister MGR amongst a cheering crowd.   He distributed mementos to the all the Fan Organisations that had gathered for the function.

 

In the evening, the celebration resumed with the bursting of crackers and garlanding the huge MGR cut outs. There was a display of rare stills from Mr. Murali’ s collection; which was inaugurated by Mr. K.P Ramakrishnan.  The programme started with different look alikes of MGR performing dance items on his famous songs. The roaring applause which the performers received shows that popularity of MGR’s  songs is still green in everyone’s memory.  Special mention has to be made about the performance of Nammakal MGR who re-created the magic of MGR on stage.

 

 

 

The memorable evening was graced by yesteryear co-stars and associates of Pon Mana Chemmal like M.G.R Body Guard K.P. Ramakrishnan, Kanchana,M.G.Chakrapani’s Son Mr.M.C.Chandran Rajashree, CID Shakuntala,S.N. Parvathi, Thirudade Lakshmi, Jayanthi Kannapan (ALS Productions), Dance Master Thara, , Industrialist Mr. Antony .  All the celebrities spoke about their close association and fond memories with MGR.  Ms. Rajashree declared the souvenir open and handed over the first copy to Mr. M.G.C. Chandran (Son of M.C. Chakrapani).The show was hosted by an ardent Makkal Thilagam Fan  Mr. Ravichandran from Tirupur.  They were all then presented with MGR shields.  Later in the evening there was an audio visual presentation from various rare movie clippings of MGR compiled by MGR’s Grandson MGCB.Pradeep.

All those who attended the function went home with nostalgic memories of the evergreen “King of the masses”.

M.G.R Fans Condemn the sentence as stated by the Writer Mr. Bagavan Singh.

 

 

Dear Editor,

Sub : Denial of Statement published under the article written by Mr. R. Bagavan Singh titled as "Ariyatha Mugangal"

On behalf of crores of MGR Devotess, I strongly object and condemn the sentence as stated by the Writer Mr. Bagavan Singh.

It is quite untrue that the then District AIADMK Organizers have feared over assembling of crowd when MGR visits in their Districts. Please note that - First of all, our beloved God MGR, (who still remains as the VOTE BANKER) is beyond comparison. He proved several times at different occasions that he was always supreme and huge crowd puller by way of making large gathering whenever he calls for any agitation, public meetings etc. Next to Aringnar Anna, he was the deciding authority for Chief Ministership in the year 1969 which shows his strength. He was the only political leader who got connection even to the lowest level of party worker. The Local Leaders of the Party have never worried about the crowd when the great MGR visits their place. They were fully aware that however it may be whether during hot sun or during heavy rain the crowd (not brought under compulsion but by spending their own money and present themselves voluntarily to see their affectionate leader) remain there for hours together and anticipate the arrival of Legend MGR without any expectation (unlike the current situation of providing Non-veg. Dishes, Briyani, Liquor Bottles, Free transportation with pocket money of 500s or 1000s) It is a great pride for him until his death he was a go-getter between the party-men and thus ensured cordial / smooth relationship exists in his AIADMK party. As far as political career is concerned, he was a never defeated Chief Minister.

Under the said circumstances, I request you to please arrange to publish my views, on behalf of crores of MGR Devotees, with the belief that the magazine "Puthiya Thalaimurai" will respect the feelings of its Readers.

Ulagam Sutrum Valiban title also was used and was released in malayalam acted by Jayaram.

Janapriyanayakan Dileep join hands with director Viji Thampy for the movie “Nadodi Mannan”. In Nadodi Mannan, Dileep will turn into the character of a city mayor. Dileep will be in the dress codes of a young man unexpectedly forced to take the position of a mayor of a city under very corrupt administration. This comedy entertainer based on a story by V S Suresh will be scripted by Krishna Poojappura

It will be releasing this year.

M.G.R's Great Grandnephew's Wedding

 

 

M.G.R's Great Grandnephew's Mr.Sanjay menon had got married to Mrs.Mega.S.Menon on 15th of April last month.Sanajay Menon is grandson of Smt.Satyabamma and  son of Mr.P.Mohan Kumar & Sumathi Mohan Kumar.

Smt Satyabhama Rajan was the eldest child of Sri M.G.Chakrapani and she was named after his mother Smt Sathyabhama.As it was the name of the mother ,he(M.G.C & M.G.R) was fondly called Mani.She was married to Mr. Rajan who worked for the indian Railways in Mumbai  and the couple had two daughters Sumathi , Geetha and a son Sunder Rajan.

M.G.R fans are upset on the written poetry by sivaji fans.After the re-release of the movie Karanan acted by Mr. sivaji ganesan and the film is running successfully stating by sivaji fans and now  writing indirectly in a indecent format. As a grandson of M.G.R I am hurt and again and again  saying that we (M.G.R Fans) are not at all commenting on Mr.sivaji or Mr.sivaji ‘s fans.I think Mr.Sivaji Fans are….jealous on M.G.R Movie releases. If your movie running in a gap it is not our fault go ask the distributors. Distributors or channels  releases movie of  M.G.R because they could get an gain not loss and channels putting M.G.R movies for rating why blame M.G.R or M.G.R Fans.-
