Veteran director A Jagannathan passed away yesterday after suffering from breathing problems. He was 77 and was survived by wife, 2 daughters and a son. The director entered the film industry with the MGR starrer Idaya Kani and went on to direct several films which were blockbusters.
The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha in her condolence message recalled the days she was associated with the director.
Several celebrities and politicians paid their last respects to the departed soul and his body was cremated at a crematorium in Tiruppur his hometown.
